The Story

Nothing is quite what it seems

On Christmas Eve, a conductor arrives as a first-time guest at an elegant London townhouse — and encounters a grotesque portrait whose eyes seem to know him. Over one winter and spring, the portrait's secret unravels: the story of an “invisible woman” he met at a masked ball five years earlier, of a marriage undone not by betrayal but by a single professional mistake mistaken for cruelty — and of a household of surgeons, barristers, psychiatrists and dreaming RADA graduates among whom her secret has been hiding — in plain sight — all along.

Warm, witty and music-laced — the ensemble mischief of a classic country-house mystery, a portrait that transforms like a reverse Dorian Gray, and an original West End musical built inside the story itself.

The Music

A score that already exists

Most musical dramas budget years for a score. Déjà Vu Revisited arrives with its principal numbers composed, recorded, released — and audience-tested for over a decade, by a composer with seven No. 1s across the iTunes Classical and Amazon charts: from Insecurity Alert, adopted by the Band of HM Royal Marines as the finale of their Amazon No. 1 album Jubilation, to Healing Love, the intended end-title theme, and For Susannah York — A Cinematic Suite, written for the actress to whose memory the series is dedicated.
